Seveso - Control of hazards from relevant accidents (Legislative Decree n. 334/99 and subsequent amendments)

Legislative Decree n. 334 of 17 August 1999, subsequently amended by legislative decree n.238 of 21 September 2005, implements the Directive 96/82/EC (“Seveso II”) . These provisions are intended to prevent relevant accidents involving dangerous substances and limit their consequences for man and for the environment. Directive 2012/18/EU ( Directive "Seveso III"), even if it doesn’t change substantially the obligations of operator and the related system of controls by the Competent Authorities, introduces significant innovations, such as the classification of substances and mixtures aligned with the CLP Regulation - EC n.1272/2008 , including the obligation to evaluate the possible accident scenarios including those arising from natural events, etc.
