The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code was developed as an international code for the transport of dangerous goods by sea and deals with regulatory issues such as classification, packaging, labelling, container trade, stowage, with particular reference to the separation of incompatible substances.
Since its adoption by the fourth meeting of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) in 1965 , the IMDG has been updated every two years. Last amendment (37-14) is legally binding from Jenuary 1st 2016, however it can be adopted on voluntary basis from 2015.
